aww Winter Break. . .

Yes, winter break has finally began for me. Usually we get a total of two weeks for break (which I really wish we had), but since it falls on a Saturday this year we only get one and a half. Joy! I've been losing a great amount of sleep lately and I finally get to catch up on some rather than my usual four hours or five if I'm lucky.

Expect a vlog post soon, very soon. And probably a blog post with pictures too since I'm going to go visit my family in Baltimore tomorrow. I get to drive up there on the highway. Eek! I get nervous when I have to drive especially on the highway (I don't really care for it). I'm always worrying that I get in a crash, or cause of crash, or even worse. However, I really need to a car to get around in this town in order to go to school, after-school activities, and so on.

Three more days until its Christmas! I'm ready for it this year. I got my family a bunch of cute things especially clothes for my mom because I felt like hooking her up with some great pieces for the winter here in Virginia. And of course at my household we are celebrating with movies. My favorite of all is Love Actually.

I'm just finishing it now with my mom. I'll probably watch it again before and after Christmas. Its a true favorite.

It is a very British movie filled with romance, comedy, and heartbreak. Its a favorite and I completely recommend watching it because their is laughter and the Beetles. I don't think any British movie would be complete without the Beetles. Favorite character Sam because he fell in love and knew the "total and complete agony of being in love."
At least once in your life time I advise that you watch this movie. Its definitely a favorite, like I've said eighty times already.
So Love & Love Actually,

P.S. cautionary note for viewers under 17 the movie is rated British R.

Look What I Found

Sorry guys, super apologies are coming your way for two reasons. 1. My mother went to go get my camera a new memory card and has placed it with the Christmas presents. Which means no vlog post yet but I am looking in the market for a webcam. Any recommendations? 2. Also, my mother's camera's battery is fried so we're trying to get here a new one and a higher lens because she has been hinting about that's what she needs.

But until then I've been in the market looking at shoes, they're my new fetish, especially wedges and heels. I saw these shoes V V Brown is wearing in the November issue of InStyle

If you can see her shoes there is this black fringe-type-fur-thing going down the heel. Its called a mowhawk heel and courtesy of Krystal of This Time Tomorrow has produced a DIY: ysl palais mohawk suede pumps

"Alright, ladies and gents. Here's the much-anticipated DIY post for those YSL palais mohawk suede pump look-a-likes I was sporting the other day, both here and here.

Hopefully I didn't build this up too much, because the process here is pretty simple (after all, I could do it!). So here's how the story goes...

For starters, you'll need the following:
- pair of black suede pumps of your choosing; I chose a pair from Forever 21, $22
- glue gun
- small strip of black faux fur (the longer the fur, the better)
- scissors

First up, you'll want two identical strips cut from your original strip. Try eyeballing it while holding it up to the back curve of the heel, to get an idea of how thick you want the strip to be. Mine were roughly an inch in width and I made sure to have it run from the very top of the shoe to the base of the heel.

Once you have your two strips, warm up the glue gun and start gluing!

To give extra oomph and the "mohawk" effect, I sprayed hairspray on the fur and sculpted it into the mohawk shape. (If you happen to be crazy like me and try this DIY at work, your coworkers will look at you funny, promise.)

Next, WEAR THOSE PUPS around! (This is when said coworkers start coveting the shoes, making the funny looks worth it.)

And that's it. See? Painless and didn't put you out $935."

I would definetly do this but since I don't have an extra pair of heels to transform or a job to pay for an extra pair of heels to transform. But I thought it was a lovely project to share with you the bold followers who would want to try this.
So Love & Mohawks

p.s. I'm going to post more on things in general and I'm going to do a vlog post.

What I'm Up To

Right now I'm currently writing a paper for the play A Raisin in the Sun and I'm continuously getting writer's block. While I'm watching 500 Days of Summer! I finally saw that movie and I'm in complete adoration of it. Have I said that I really want Summer's wardrobe. I'm thinking that I have but I don't mind saying it again!

Even though I finally did a post yesterday I spaced out and forgot what to write about what I'm thankful for. So when I was gathered around the huge feast I had with my family I came up with the greatest conclusions. I'm surrounded by loving family members, (like my wonderful parents) what could be any better? Blessed with all of the things I have now and all of the opportunities I can gain. Friends who can put up with my madness. Imperfect eyesight so I can wear cute glasses and stand out from all of the contacts people at school (not that there isn't anything wrong with contacts because I occasionally wear them). My own computer. My loving dog/baby Tyler who puts up with my insanity and is always there. Music that synchronizes with my feelings. Along with clothes that help express myself. These are all of the things I'm thankful for along with you special followers that tolerate my tardiness from the blog world. I'll try not to disappoint in the future I promise.

I just love the holidays; a chance to relax and be with family along with celebrating. Its probably one of the most relaxing and important times of the year. Too bad I'll always have work during those breaks well I'm off to finish this paper and start another one.
So Love & Thanks,

I'll be back!

Alright, I've been gone for a total of 2 months without saying something and I haven't posted any photos of me for a total of 3 months. Let me say, "I feel like a failure blogger." I've wanted to post but I haven't had time or haven't had anything decent to share, which isn't an excuse because a lot has happened to me in the past 3 months that I haven't shared with the few amount of people who read this blog so thank you for following me.

1. I have purchased a number of variously great things from Urban Outfitters (my favorite store), Forever21, and H&M. I've had a huge clothing haul from all of those stores from wedges and heels (which I've NEVER WORN prior to this) to cardigans and graphic shirts. I will admit that I've worn some of them but most I haven't because the numerous occasions in which I get up at 5:30 in the morning and have to catch a bus at 6 o'clock doesn't really allow me time to think of great outfits and put them together. But I have been receiving tons of inspiration and will be posting pictures of them (I've gotten a new photographer, my tripod).

2. On October 2nd of this year I went to my first homecoming dance and it was a success. I loved every minute of it and wish that I could relive it! Everyone loved my dress and I'm definetly posting pictures I just haven't been able to locate my camera's adaptor (my room is worse than messy). But the pictures are gorgeous and I can't wait to show them to you!

3. School has been crazy. For the first month in English we had to write 5 analysis papers on these short stories (the teacher loved my writing but took five points off for my messed up works cited page). Then we had to read this book Of Mice and Men, which I didn't really like, and watch this movie La Strada that I thought was pretty interesting all in the same month. Now I have to write a 4 to 7 page paper on archetypal comparisons between this book and movie that is due on December 2nd. While also reading the book The Tempest by Shakespeare and writing annotations on it. Pretty much my work life has been crazy and I'm not really appreciating it right now.

4. I got casted in my school's Drama Production A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry in which I had to play the very zany character Mrs. Johnson. Let me say the character was a nut and everyone applauded me for being such a great nut/nosy neighbor. I was the comic relief in this play, which I think is pretty comical itself because I don't really think of myself as "funny." My grandparents even drove down to see it which I thought was so great of them. Plus I also helped with costumes in which I had to hand sew an African robe; I put the robe together in 1 day and everyone said I did such a good job putting it together on such short notice (the robe did look really good). Now I kinda want to start sewing clothes for myself now.

5. I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and I'm in love with this final installment! I had a lot of dark colors which made it so much different for the previous ones in a GOOD WAY (specifically the 3rd and 6th ones, I didn't really like those). My brother thought it was boring, but I loved every minute of it! I'm starting to get into the films that concentrate on the actual emotions of the characters and all of the scenic, costume, and lighting designs that effect the movie (I'm really getting into my technical theatre class at school which talks about all of these things).

I may even post up a vlog post because I'm discovering those may be faster to make for the near future. You'll probably see my messy room but like I said I've been SO busy lately and hopefully I'll be even more busy coming up. However, break is here and I do promise that I'll post some more posts because for once I don't have that much homework (well besides my papers to write). So I will be back!
Love & rockets,
